KINGMAN K. WONG Special Agent in Charge Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Operations Division New York Field Office Mr. Wong joined the FBI as a Special Agent in 1988. He was assigned to the Violent Crime and Major Offenders Program of the San Francisco Division, with the responsibility to investigate kidnapping, extortion, and other violent criminal offenses. In 1989, he was assigned to the Organized Crime Program to investigate transnational and domestic criminal syndicates. In 1995, Mr. Wong was promoted as the Supervisory Special Agent of the Asian Organized Crime and Drug Squad, San Francisco Division. Mr. Wong was later transferred to the Organized Crime Section, FBI Headquarters, where he served as a Supervisor and Program Manager. He was subsequently promoted to the position of Unit Chief of the Asian/African Criminal Enterprise Unit, FBI Headquarters. In 2000, Mr. Wong was promoted as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the San Diego Division. He was responsible for the Organized Crime, Drug, Violent Crime and Major Offenders, Undercover, Special Operations, Crisis Management, Aviation, U.S./Mexico Border Liaison, Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT), and Asset Forfeiture Programs. He served as the On-Scene Commander for all FBI San Diego tactical operations, and supervised the San Diego Command Center and crisis management personnel following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. In 2002, Mr. Wong served as the On-Scene Commander for field operations during the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2003, Mr. Wong became the Legal Attaché of the FBI Hong Kong Office. He served as a core member of the U.S. Country Team, and worked with the FBI’s law enforcement and intelligence partners throughout the region. In 2007, Mr. Wong was promoted as the Section Chief of the International Operations Section, Office of International Operations, FBI Headquarters. He was responsible for overseeing 75 FBI offices/sub-offices stationed throughout the world, and managing the support infrastructure for international operations. In 2008, Mr. Wong was promoted as the Special Agent in Charge, Special Operations Division, New York Field Office. He oversees all Special Operations, Technical, and Cyber matters. Mr. Wong’s assignments have taken him throughout the world, working in partnership with numerous foreign governments. Mr. Wong was the recipient of the FBI Director’s Award; the U.S. Attorney General’s Award; three congressional citation/proclamation/special recognition; a New York State Legislative Resolution; a California State Assembly Resolution; and awards and commendations from domestic and foreign government agencies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master in Public Administration. |
