Blair Carl Smith Relationship Manager Wachovia Wealth Management Blair Carl Smith is a Relationship Manager with Wachovia Wealth Management in New York City. In this role, he delivers a comprehensive platform, including Private Banking, customized credit services, investment management, financial planning, trust and estate planning, insurance and charitable services to clients, with more than 10 million dollars in investable assets. Blair holds a Series 7, Series 63 and State of NY Insurance licenses. In 2002, Blair was a First Vice President in the Private Client Group at Salomon Smith Barney. He was responsible for all Multicultural Marketing Initiatives and helped Financial Advisors generate additional assets under management among affluent African American, Hispanic/Latino and Asian investors. His responsibilities included the strategic development, marketing, event planning and execution, metrics, advertising and public relations for his initiative. In addition, Blair managed a Community Investment Program which allowed the Private Client Group’s Financial Advisors to provide charitable contributions to qualified organizations. Blair completed the Cannon Financial Institute course for Private Bankers. Prior to joining Salomon Smith Barney, Blair held a variety of key positions with various Fortune 500 Companies including Pharmaceutical Sales, Media and Entertainment and Management Consulting. Blair earned a BA in Communications from Morgan State University and an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business. While in business school, Blair served as a teaching assistant for the Executive MBA “Math Camp†and Director of the Harlem Tutorial Program. During his tenure at Citigroup, he served as a United Negro College Fund/Citigroup Foundation Fellow mentor. Blair also lectured retail customers and trained internal personnel using Citigroup’s Financial Education curriculum. He is a member of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association. Blair volunteers for The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship, where he teaches public school students about banking. Blair is an Adjunct Lecturer at both Baruch College and New York University in their School of Continuing Studies programs. He enjoys golf and chess.
