Supriya Jayadev
Dr. Supriya Jayadev obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology from San Jose State University. She went on to pursue doctoral training at Duke University. Under the mentorship of Dr. Yusuf Hannun, Supriya completed thesis work in the field of lipid signaling and obtained a Ph.D. in Cell Biology in 1995. Supriya continued her training in cellular signaling mechanisms through post-doctoral work at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in Dr. Elizabeth Murphy’s laboratory. In October 1999, Supriya joined Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Senior Scientist in the Department of Toxicology & Safety Assessment. During the past 9.5 years Supriya has held positions of increasing responsibility and impact. In Toxicology, she grew the areas of Molecular Toxicology, Immunotoxicology and In Vitro Toxicology. More recently, Supriya took the position of Executive Director, Research Operations. In her new role she generates key information to influence the prioritization and implementation of the NCE and NBE portfolio in Research and provides leadership in defining and implementing best practices, based on internal and external benchmarking. Supriya has a leadership role in supporting the operational effectiveness of Project Leaders across Research, ensuring that they have access to the right tools and information and are working in a culture that supports innovation. Supriya has extended her education while at BIPI through engaging in executive education programs at MIT Sloan School of Management (Leading Innovative Enterprises, Strategies for Growth in the Life Sciences), Harvard Law School (Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives) and Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development (Tufts CSDD - Postgraduate Course in Clinical Pharmacology, Drug Development, & Regulation). Supriya became engaged in the Diversity & Inclusion initiatives at BIPI through participation in the Leadership Team of the Asian Employee Resource Group. She was Co-chair/Chair of the AEN for 1.5 years. Supriya is convinced of the critical role that diverse teams and thinking have in producing the best science! |
