Miriam L. Brewer
Miriam L. Brewer is the Director of Education and Diversity with the International Franchise Association Educational Foundation. In this role, she leads IFA’s efforts to increase the number of minorities, women and veterans in franchising. Brewer works hand-in-hand with members of Congress, Mayors and other stakeholders committed to economic development by coordinating and delivering programs in major cities across the U.S. using franchising as the model. A seasoned speaker, Miriam has presented at over 250 conferences and is frequently interviewed by print and broadcast journalists. She has contributed to articles in publications such as Franchising World, Black Enterprise and Essence Magazines. Brewer previously served as the Associate Director, Diversity and Inclusion with the National Office of the Alzheimer’s Association. During her decade plus tenure with the Association, she worked on both the national and local levels. Prior to joining the national office, Brewer worked for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Washington Chapter in a number of roles from Multicultural Outreach Coordinator to Executive Director. Miriam is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., (DST) Prince George’s County Alumnae Chapter. She recently “retired†as a Volunteer Adjudicator for the District of Columbia Court of Appeals Board of Professional Responsibility Hearings Committee. Brewer is a graduate of Howard University with a degree in Psychology and also possesses a Certificate in Diversity Management/Training from Montgomery College. |
