Suri Kumaran, Co-Chair, Asian Business Council, Target Corporation
Suri Kumaran, a passionate champion for diversity and inclusion in the workplace currently occupies the position of Co-Chair for the Asian Business Council at the Target Corporation headquartered in Minneapolis, MN. Suri joined Target in March 2008 as a Manager in Target's Technology Services department. Suri leads a team of technology professionals responsible for providing the best solutions to support Target's Indirect Sourcing and Procurement functions. Suri, a native of Sri Lanka, lived in Malawi, Africa for fourteen years prior to moving to the US in 1990. He completed his undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and is currently pursuing an MBA with the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. His fifteen year career in Software Development, Strategic Sourcing, HR Outsourcing and Retail industries with different organizations across the country has been truly rewarding. The opportunity to meet individuals with diverse experiences and thought continues to fuel his personal and professional growth. Suri lives in Woodbury, Minnesota with his wife Sharonne, who is a native of the Bahamas, and their three sons ages ten, seven and six. Suri, an avid soccer fan, made the pilgrimage to South Africa in 2010 to attend the FIFA World Cup. Other interests include Field Hockey, Fishing, Travelling and expanding his collection of currency notes. |
