Thomas W. Monaco, Director, International Advising & Business Development, Career Management Center, Columbia Business School
As Director of International Advising and Business Development, Tom works with recruiters to help connect them to the international MBA student population at Columbia Business School and assists them with the development of effective MBA recruitment strategies. He counsels international students on the full range of issues related to the job search process and career development and acts as an internal consultant to Columbia Business School's Career Management Center on international issues. Tom began his career in 1984 working in accounting and finance, first on the audit staff of Ernst & Young and then in a mortgage-backed securities division of Bear Stearns. He first joined Columbia Business School in 1996 in the office of MBA Admissions before moving to the Career Management Center. Tom recently worked in microfinance in Tanzania for a UK-based NGO, and taught Business English to corporate clients through a private language school in Prague, the Czech Republic. Before his return to Columbia Business School in 2008 he was Director of Career Services at Fordham's Graduate School of Business and taught as an Adjunct Professor at NYU's Stern School of Business. Tom holds an M.S., Education from The Ohio State University, and B.S. Accountancy from Villanova University. |
