Rebecca Carmine, Assistant Environmental Engineer, Hazen and Sawyer, P.C.
Rebecca Carmine currently holds the position of Assistant Environmental Engineer at Hazen and Sawyer, P.C., where she specializes in wastewater treatment plant design. She presently serves as project engineer for the Assessment of Climate Change and Population Growth Effects on NYC's Sewer and Wastewater Systems. This project aims to develop a long-term iterative management plan and service risk framework to address population growth, anticipated sea level rise, and climate change. Ms. Carmine also serves as project engineer for change order work to Contract 12 at the 26th Ward Water Pollution Control Plant. This project involves modification work to three 350 HP hot water boilers and one digester gas burner (flare) to improve emission performance. In addition, Ms. Carmine served as project engineer for the Consolidated Edison Wastewater Characterization Assessment. This project involves assessing the conformance of six Con Edison Steam Generating Facilities with their respective SPDES permit requirements. Rebecca Carmine is a New York State certified Engineer in Training. She received a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from the University at Buffalo, Magna Cum Laude, with Engineering Distinction, May 2009. She was the 2009 recipient of the Society of American Military Engineers Scholarship and the American Society of Civil Engineers Julian Snyder Scholarship. Ms. Carmine is an active member of the New York chapters of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). She currently serves as Hofstra University's SWE Student Section Counselor and is co-founding the New York chapter of the Society of Women Environmental Professionals. |
