Isaias Zamarripa, CEO, Three Degrees from Isaias
Isaias Zamarripa just started his own consulting firm Three Degrees from Isaias. He is focusing on consulting in the areas of Diversity, Employee Networks and in Executive recruiting. The last decade he was the Director of Talent Acquisition & Diversity at General Mills in Minneapolis, MN. In that role, he developed and implemented strategy across the company for experienced staffing and internet recruiting. During his ten years at General Mills, he played an integral role in several diversity initiatives. He works closely with Senior Management in diversity initiatives for the increase, retention, and pipeline of future leaders. Particularly, he is known for his contributions on developing the branding recruitment process and the role of the employee networks in the process. In addition, he has developed some best in class recruiting practices including the Hispanic Revisit Weekend and Bring a Friend Night. Prior to General Mills, Isaias held different recruiting manager roles in the energy & high tech sectors working for BP Amoco, Compaq Computers and EXXON. In these roles he also developed recruiting strategies and diversity initiatives for all corporate levels. Isaias graduated from the Columbia University School of Business with an MBA in Human Resource Management. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University where he was a recipient of a full tuition scholarship. He has a long history of working with NSHMBA dating back to the first conference in 1989. He was the Chair of the Corporate Board of Advisors from 2006-2009. In addition, he is a recipient of the most prestigious Brillante Award for Executive Excellence in 2009 which recognizes executives whose work and contributions reflect NSHMBA's mission of fostering Hispanic leadership. He was a founding member of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter and was the Houston Chapter President. Lastly, he is a 14 year veteran at the Consortium for Graduate Studies where he shares his interviewing skills presentation with MBA candidates. Isaias is quite active in the Arts community. He is on the Latino Film Festival Board of Directors and was on the Minnesota Film & TV Board. He is presently a Board Member of the Ordway Theater in St. Paul, MN. |
