He is also the head of the Global Cloud Delivery Center of Competence where he provides support for the enablement of Cloud capabilities and standards across all IBM supported geographies. In 2000, Andy earned a Bachelors of Science from the USC. Instead of pursuing a ca-reer with traditional consulting firms, he elected to join IBM as a technologist supporting the IBM Storage Technology division in San Jose, CA. Andy is a true believer of leader-ship through competency, specifically being able to talk the talk, he better learn to walk the walk. He quickly rose up through the technical ranks becoming one of the youngest senior technical leaders in the division. In 2006, with the proven track record as a tech-nical subject matter expert, Andy wanted to further challenge himself and decided to in-corporate his business roots and take on his first management position supporting the SAP line of business. He later became the National SAP Delivery manager for the entire IBM SMB client portfolio. In 2010, Andy was selected to lead a new challenging start-up business called, “Cloud.” That start-up has turned into a major business strategy for IBM. Andy has since been promoted into his current role and was named senior manager in the Global Technology Services division. Andy has been recognized with many awards for his expertise in managing complex pro-ject transitions and leading global teams in support of IBM’s long term goals and objec-tives. He is a proud Taiwanese American who embraces his Asian heritage not letting it be a barrier to corporate success. With the understanding of multi cultures and different ways of thinking, Andy leverages his own diverse background as a positive instrument to incorporating and advocating the importance of diversity in the corporate employee workplace. His success is highly attributed to his embracing of global diversity and has empowered him to build one of the strongest global organizations spanning 13 countries. Andy enjoys reading and various fitness/sports activities. He and his wife, Sharon, have 2 children and live in Southern California. |
