Roger Park is a Partner/Principal in Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Advisory practice. He leads the IT advisory services practice for the Americas and our strategic technology competency globally. Roger has over 20 years of experience providing technology consulting services to clients in the global financial services industry, helping organizations leverage new and existing technology capabilities to achieve their business objectives. In addition to his leadership role in the firm, Roger works directly with our clients on their most important initiatives with a focus on technology strategy, technology solution delivery, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. Selected Major Projects • Led the online platform technology strategy group for a top 5 US commercial bank which was responsible for defining and implementing presentation, security, content management, application services and data architecture strategies across all lines of business, including retail banking, card services, consumer lending, treasury services and private banking. • Led the design and planning phases for a multi-year, $100MM+ program to update online and desktop capabilities for the private client services group of a top 5 US investment bank. Activities included a comprehensive assessment of all current state applications and systems, design of the target state architecture blueprint and creation of a multi-year investment roadmap that was presented to senior technology and business executives. • Conducted a detailed assessment of lending technology and processes at a major Chinese bank as part of a due diligence review for a top 5 US commercial bank. • Led an architecture strategy review for the marketing services group of one of the top 3 credit information providers in the US. Areas covered in the review included extremely high volume ETL systems, automated decisioning systems using business rules engines, integration with legacy systems using SOA and business intelligence systems for reporting and analytics. • Led the technology assessment and future state technical architecture design workstreams of a comprehensive lending optimization program for a top 15 US bank. Identified areas of opportunity in document imaging systems, rules based workflow management, enterprise content management, service oriented architecture and infrastructure consolidation across the enterprise. Conducted application portfolio rationalization and migration planning activities. • Led a technology strategy project to develop a technical architecture blueprint and implementation roadmap for the home loan business of a top 5 US bank which impacted over $70MM a year in technology spend over a 3 year period. The scope of the project included implementation of imaging and workflow technology, consolidation of LOS systems, centralization of enterprise services, migration of legacy applications, implementation of a data integration hub, enhancements to secondary market risk management systems and consolidation of servicing platforms. • Led the design and planning phases of the “next generation banking system” at one of the largest banks in Korea, which produced an integrated technology blueprint and five year implementation roadmap for all core systems of the bank which encompassed over $200MM of IT spend. • Led a multi-year program to implement and operate the online and B2B lending systems for a top 5 US lender. Managed a portfolio of applications supporting wholesale, correspondent, broker, loan officer and direct-to-consumer originations and servicing channels. Conducted due diligence and post-merger systems integration for two major acquisitions during this period and established software development processes across four major development sites and twelve secondary vendor build centers. • Led the design and implementation of the technical architecture for four major releases of a multi-channel banking system at a top 5 US bank. Supported the post-merger systems integration for three major acquisitions. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Roger was an architecture strategy lead at JPMorgan Chase and the Chief Architect within the Financial Services industry group of a leading global consulting firm. |
