Yau Cheng, Director, Americas – Diversity & Inclusion, BNY Mellon
Yau Cheng brings her passion for diversity and for harnessing the power of communications to build and strengthen reputation and relationships to her role as Head of Americas Diversity & Inclusion (D&I). Yau leads and drives BNY Mellon’s D&I strategy, goals and priorities across North America and Latin America, two regions that comprise the largest portion of BNY Mellon’s global workforce of more than 50,000. She partners with senior leaders across the organization to promote the power of diversity and inclusion for innovation, client benefit, and individual and organizational excellence. Invaluable to her efforts are the Global D&I Council and business resource groups, which help bring D&I to life on a day-to-day basis for BNY Mellon’s people. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Yau specialized in communications strategy at Deloitte, leading global initiatives focused on enhancing brand reputation and competitive positioning. She has also led diversity and inclusion communications for Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Wealth Management division. Yau started her career in financial services as an equity investment analyst, and has held roles in corporate development, M&A and private equity. Yau received her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois – Champaign/Urbana. She also holds a Digital Media Marketing certificate from New York University. Yau lives with her husband in New Jersey, and enjoys cooking, hiking, biking and traveling. She also designs jewelry, and has been twice featured in InStyle magazine. |
